Tanzeum 発売中止
欧州ではEperzanという名前になっている。ビデュリオン、トルリシティに続く第三の週一回型GLP-1RAである。
2014/6/29 米国市場で発売。適応は、成人における2型糖尿病の運動および食事療法との併用。
Tanzeumの添付文書には、同クラスのげっ歯類の試験で甲状腺C細胞腫瘍の発現が認められたことから、注意書きされている。
GSKがDiabetes Careに掲載している広告には以下の記載がある。
WARNING: RISK OF THYROID C-CELL TUMORS
Carcinogenicity of albiglutide could not be assessed in rodents, but other glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists have caused thyroid C-cell tumors in rodents at clinically relevant exposures. Human relevance of GLP-1 receptor agonist induced C-cell tumors in rodents has not been determined. It is unknown whether TANZEUM causes thyroid C-cell tumors, including medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC), in humans.
TANZEUM is contraindicated in patients with a personal or family history of MTC or in patients with Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2). Counsel patients regarding the potential risk of MTC and symptoms of thyroid tumors (e.g., mass in the neck, dysphagia, dyspnea, persistent hoarseness).Routine monitoring of serum calcitonin or thyroid ultrasound monitoring is of uncertain value for early detection of MTC in patients treated with TANZEUM.
FDAは、Tanzeumが甲状腺C細胞腫瘍を誘発するかどうかは不明と述べている。
GSKは経済的理由でこの薬を発売中止にした。
